The Lady Maroons basketball team is off to a strong start to the 2024-2025 season. Their most recent achievement was setting a program record for points in a single game. The Austin High Girls varsity team scored 101 points in their win this past week versus Gainesville. The Lady Maroons were led in scoring by a group of players including Jill Shirk, Lillian Walker, Miya Johnson, Evelyn Young and Foley Anderson. 12 of 13 the players on the team scored in the game. The 101 points score in a game is a program record for Austin High girls varsity basketball. The game was played at the Hill Country Tournament in Marble Falls. The Lady Maroons followed up that amazing performance by defeating Grapevine HS on a buzzer beater in their bracket championship game.
